The learning pyramid & how to use it

Hello everyone reading!
Today, I am very pleased to introuduce you to the learning pyramid. This symbolic device visualizes the amount of content, your brain will remember according to the way, you study the content.
When you for example take the highest level of the pyramid, you see aural memorization. If you learn the content aurally, your brain will remember about 5 %. This percentage is not tied to any consitions, such as studying time or intervalls of recall. It just measures the amount of content remembered in comparison to other ways of studying. This does not mean that you will remember every content you once taught (bottom level) forever but you will remember the most in comparison to other types of study.
So, now, let us talk about the diffrent cathegories a bit closer;

Top part: The first four types of the pyramid are ways of passive studying, so types where the student does not actively do or create something but just gathering information.
Aural: Aural studying is the most common type: listening to lectures. It includes everything that has to do with hearing the content and is said to make only about 5 % of the content stick. It is, however, an easy way used in school or university.
Visual: This type of studying is very common as well. It includes reading, looking at pictures or graphics and is often required at school as well. It, however, secures only about 10% of the studied content, so 90% of the viewed is not remembered at all. For acquireing content, however, it is often the only way to do.
Audio- Visual: This type of studying connects the two previous types: it includes put heared content into notes, make visual content audible and watching videos about the study content. Making this connection can make at least some diffrence: about 20% of the content studied this way is remembered.
Demonstration: It has to be said that this type is not able to be made to every kind of study content. Study  content that is not kust theory but something real, such as chemical experimetns, biological phenomenons or people's reaction can be demonstrated by actually performing the theory talked about. This makes the study content real, authentic and more memorizable: 30% of content studied this way, sticks in one's brain.

Bottom part: Now, we come to the intersting part of the pyramid: These three types of studying are active studying, so actions performed by the student himself.
Group discussion: A group discussion means a group of adjustable size gathering together, being confronted with a topic or problem and discussing about it. This is often made use of in class as well, when teachers ask about a question, you discuss in class about it. Studying this way makes you think about the problem more closely and insentively what makes you remember about 50% of the content.
Practicing: Practicing puts you in the situation to actually have to solve the problem, what required a high amount of understanding. you are confronted with your knowledge as well as with your insecurities. This way, 75% of the content, you are confronted with can be memorized by your brain.
Teaching others: And here, this is the final bottom 90% of the study contet stick. You do not have to have an actual person to sit in front of you but you can also teach your dog or your wall to apply this study method. Becuause people taught do not now wanything about the content and may ask questions, it requires a deep and wide knowledge of the topic.

Okay, you know about the magic learning pyramid. Now, what to do with this knowledge?
Improve your study strategies in class. You cannot push your teacher to teach diffrently but you can change your way of gathering information. Write down notes as you hear them and try to connect visual with aural signals. If you have the ability, do as much practice as possible.
When you have to study content at home, do not just read through it but make direct notes and try to visualize and, if you can, demonstrate the content to yourself.
If you have gathered enough information, improve your techniques for studying this contents. Try out the method of active recall, what is basically a mehtod of teaching others your content. If you can, try to study in a (productive!) group as well, where you discuss problems and possible solutions. For training, do a lot of practice promblems and check and evaluate your own performance.
